Shobika’s love for fashion took a turn ten years ago when she started showing her interest in the world of fashion in India. A student of Welham’s World School and Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, she sharpened her creativity through fashion designing and interior designing courses. Finally, her journey as a consumer to that of a designer culminated into the formation of her own brand around seven years ago.
Early brand history begins with a small home setup. As the appreciation of the brand designs increased, it slowly turned into a recognizable couture and occasion wear brand. The philosophy of the brand includes exquisite details in each piece of clothing, as all clothes are marked by handwork, embellishments and finishings.
An intrinsic part of the identity of Shobika Bhandari is exquisite surface work. What sets this brand apart from others is their use of hand embroidery, crystals and Swarovski embellishments, thread works, appliqués and cut work, along with modern silhouettes and contemporary fusion tailoring. The brand does not stick to fast changes of trends but rather creates sophisticated clothes which reflect Indian traditions in a modern way.
Such a unique style of the brand has also made it recognizable by celebrities. Nita Ambani wore Shobika Bhandari pantsuit in pastel colors while felicitating athletes who won medals for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
